Made in London in the 60s by Avalon, this quality piece has four drawers, simple in design with lovely carved pull handles. This gorgeous mid-century chest of drawers are a great example of design from the 1970s but unusual for this British shop these are by Australian maker Alrob. Made in Victoria, Australia these honey blonde wood drawers feature Alrob’s signature recessed handles. They’ve got us daydreaming of how they ending up in the UK and the journey they went on to get here. It’s not just a looker it’s also got heaps of storage in it’s spacious five drawers. These are in good vintage condition but do have some scratched, dings and marks to the wood which we think add to their appeal. Please see the photos for more details. We have sanded and revarnished, to bring out the grain and colour and lined the drawers to make them perfect for immediate use. The drawers run well too! Approximate dimensions are as follows. Would make an ideal childs wardrobe, storage for clothing as its a compact unit but with lots of storage. The left side with full length hanging space. Could add a second rail easily to hang babies, childs clothing (154/54) The right has a mirrored door with cupboard behind (58/43) having one shelf near half way. There is a drop down desk type space (42/28) Ideal for books or nappies and wipes. Four deep and spacious drawers (43/17) All measurements are approximate. This lovely unit does show minimal wear with a few minor scratches but nothing major that couldnt be covered with regular teak oil treatment. There is one small chip of veneer missing on the top wardrobe door, it is pictured. Does not affect the use or look as it is quite small so could be covered with a brown filler easily.
