3′ Antique Stained Pine Trunk Coffee Table Candle Box Vintage Storage Chest Prop

Collection from Inwardleigh, nr Okehampton, Devon. This is for a Large Antique Stained Pine Trunk, with Candle Box, which is just over 3′ across. Marks and knocks from age and use but would be great as a rustic Coffee Table, Toy/Dressing Up Chest, etc. Plinth style base to 3 sides, metal handles to each end but one not fully attached. Lid opens on large metal hinges, old lock but no key. Candle box to one end with hinged lid and brass lock – again, no key. Remains of paper lining to the base. Sturdy, heavy item weighing just over 16kg prior to packing. Appears to have a good amount of age with many knocks and marks from use over the years. Many treated historical worm holes, handle not attached at one end, etc – See Photos – but a lovely substantial and very useable period piece. About 96cm across the top, 92cm across actual trunk. 47cm deep and just under 37cm high. Collection from Inwardleigh, nr Okehampton, Devon. This is for a Substantial Solid Oak Trunk with Brass Corner Protectors which is about 3′ across. Would be ideal as a Coffee Table or make a great Blanket Box, Toy/Dressing Up Chest, for General Storage, etc. Appears to be in solid oak, probably stained (like the interior) originally it has been stripped back at some point to make a very attractive piece. Dovetail corner joints, substantial brass corner mounts/protectors and sturdy black painted metal handles to each side. Stands on very low runners. Lid opens on 2 heavy duty metal hinges and remains upright with retaining ridge to the back. Old lock but no key, dark stained finish internally, remains of what is probably the makers label to the lid. Very sturdy and heavy piece in thick wood, weighing just under 20kg. Some minor marks as expected from age and use, wear to the brass sections, etc – See Photos – but overall in very good Antique condition. 91cm across, 45.5cm deep and 47cm high.
